Akiko Campbell is a leader in technology and data innovation with 20+ years of experience in Information Technology from Research & Development (R&D) to commercialization of technology platforms. Akiko is currently working for EY as a management consultant on a full-time basis assisting EY’s clients with strategy development for digital transformations.
Having a positive social impact is integral to who she is, amid COVID-19 first wave, Akiko established her own management consultancy to help clients achieve social goals along with commercial goals. Prior to it, Akiko was the Chief Information Officer of LifeLabs, Canada’s largest provider of diagnostic testing services, as well as the President and Chief Executive Officer of its Digital Health subsidiary, Excelleris Technologies.
Akiko holds a PhD in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University (Burnaby, B.C.) and a BA in Linguistics from Keio University (Tokyo, Japan). Akiko grew up in Japan at the time when STEM education or careers were not encouraged for young women and she has been passionate about sharing her personal stories through formal and informal mentorship programs. As a strong advocate for the United Nation’s SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), Akiko has been actively volunteering in communities to promote all 17 goals.
