Ascend Canada announces new President

Ascend Canada today announced that Manjit Singh will be transitioning the role of President to Alexander Peh, currently Executive Vice President, Ascend Canada, effective September, 2022.

Manjit’s leadership has been underpinned by his passion about diversity and the importance of giving back to the Pan-Asian and business communities. He led Ascend Canada throughout the pandemic, shepherding the organization through its toughest chapter marked by rising Asian hate and Islamophobia, and our pivot to operating as a virtual organization. Throughout this time, Ascend Canada continued to grow its programming and member base – providing an important resource and support to our members when they needed it the most.

Manjit will work closely with Alex to ensure a smooth transition and will remain on the Board of Directors.

Alex has lived and worked all over the world, bringing a unique perspective to what Pan-Asian identity means in different contexts. He currently serves as Vice President Merchant Solutions at RBC, focusing on Large Enterprise Business Solutions and RBC’s market leading Loyalty Programme. He joined RBC to lead their Tech + Ops Innovation Group focused on an array of emerging technology. Prior to joining RBC, he had roles leading Market Development & Mobile for PayPal/Braintree Canada and Channel/Mobile Partnership’s for PayPal in UK/EMEA. Alex is also an active startup advisor, mentor and FinTech investor, and has sat on a range of Global Advisory Boards.

“I want to thank Ascend Canada’s partners, members, Board of Directors, officers, and volunteers, for this incredible the Ascend Canada president,” said Manjit Singh. “Under Alex’s leadership, I have no doubt that Ascend will continue to grow its impact on our members and the broader community.”
